A HydraFacial is not recommended if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have been diagnosed with cancer within the last two years, or if you are allergic to shellfish, aspirin, sulfur or preservatives. If you are pregnant or nursing and want a deep exfoliation, dermaplaning is the treatment we suggest instead. If you take Accutane or use Retin-A, tell us before your appointment. Your skin is more likely to flake the following day, and we will plan around it.

If you use Retin-A, take Accutane, or have not had regular facials, your skin may flake lightly the next day from the glycolic and salicylic exfoliation. Occasionally congestion comes to the surface before it clears. Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun afterwards, so sunscreen is not optional.
For about 72 hours, avoid aggressive exfoliation, waxing, products containing acids, and Retin-A. Wear sunscreen every day and avoid excessive sun exposure.
