eyelid
Whenever we communicate with others, we look mostly at each other’s eyes and mouth. These are the main focal points of human interaction and communication. It makes sense that these areas should be the most aesthetically pleasing and youthful.
The natural process of aging causes your eyelid skin to stretch and sag and the appearance of our eyes is a major age-revealing factor and, in fact, it is one of the earliest areas of our face that wrinkles. When this happens, excess fat can gather above and below your eyelids and make you look puffy and tired – ultimately you look older than you really are. Fortunately, blepharoplasty, a very simple eyelid surgery can resolve aging eyelids and leave you with a more vibrant, youthful appearance.
Eyelid lift surgery is performed in our office in under two hours. Under local anesthesia, your surgeon will use refined techniques to ensure that just the right amount of skin is removed from the eyelids because excessive skin removal can create a hollow, surgical look. With your surgeon’s skills and attention to detail, you can expect the natural results you deserve. Most patients who undergo eyelid surgery at ZENA Medical look 10 to 15 years younger with just this one procedure.

After eyelid lift surgery, you can expect to go home with little to no bruising, and a thin line of sutures for upper eyelids and no sutures for lower eyelids. You won’t have any scars because the natural folds and lines of your eyelid will be used as a guide so no new lines will be formed by the procedure. You can expect some swelling and bruising but this varies by person.
You’ll be encouraged to walk immediately after surgery but should not engage in heavy lifting or strenuous exercise for 4 weeks. We’ll require you to come to our office a week after surgery or sooner for a follow-up appointment. In addition, we will offer laser light therapy to speed up healing and reduce the bruising quickly.
Within one week after your surgery, you can wear makeup and begin to enjoy your refreshed, rejuvenated look.
