How Much Does BOTOX® Cost?
Price is every bit as important a consideration as safety with any cosmetic treatment, but you should be careful of providers offering discounts that seem too good to be true. Not just any aesthetician is qualified to administer neurotoxins. ZENA Medical has a team of highly-trained nurse injectors who specialize in neurotoxin and dermal filler injections.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons lists the average price of BOTOX® or neurotoxin treatment at $408. The severity of your lines and wrinkles, their location, and the number of units you require to achieve your goals does play a part in how much your specific neurotoxin treatment will cost. At ZENA Medical, we’ve worked hard to keep all of our prices competitive while still providing the world-class care our patients have come to expect.
How Do Neurotoxins Work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic isn’t the only neurotoxin available, but it’s the one most people have heard of. XEOMIN® and Dysport® contain the same active ingredient as BOTOX®, botulinum toxin type A. This medication stops nerve signals from reaching your muscles, which keeps them from creating the movements that cause wrinkles. ZENA Medical providers are incredibly skilled in the nuances required to freeze these muscles while still allowing you the freedom to express yourself. No one wants that “frozen” or “surprised” result from a neurotoxin treatment, and at ZENA Medical, you can rest assured you’ll still have the freedom of movement you’ll need, just without the added aging effects on your skin.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is the most popular neurotoxin because it was the first to receive FDA-approval. Despite the idea of a neurotoxin sounding scary, BOTOX® Cosmetic is one of the safest medications on the market.
XEOMIN® is slightly different in that it contains no additives. When patients find BOTOX® becoming less effective, XEOMIN® is the preferred choice due to its longer onset of effectiveness.
Dysport®, on the other hand, works faster, with visible results after only 1-2 days as opposed to 7-10 days with BOTOX®. Dysport® is also preferred for larger treatment areas due to its malleable nature.
