How to Get Perfect Skin for Your Wedding Day
When you see Dr. Zena, she will assess your skin and customize a treatment plan based on your skin needs and concerns. She will recommend a series of treatments on this general timeline:
Six Months: Lasers and Microneedling
Many of the most powerful treatments take four to six months for maximum results to appear. At this stage, we can address textural issues, pigmentation problems, acne scars, and more. Dr. Zena may begin a collagen-stimulating treatment like the Fraxel laser or Genius RF or microneedling.
Three Months: Dermal Fillers
If you plan to get dermal fillers, Dr. Zena recommends getting them eight to twelve weeks ahead. Dermal fillers can sometimes require fine-tuning to get ideal results, and three months gives you enough time to have minor adjustments. So if you’re looking for fuller, sexier lips, or higher cheekbones, consider doing this treatment early in your prep.
One Month: Botox®
At this stage, you may want to consider Botox® or related neuromodulators. Since these usually last a few months, one month gives your results time to settle and look natural but means they are still fully in effect for your wedding. If you’ve never tried Botox or other neuromodulators like Xeomin or Dysport, sometimes it’s best to give it a trial run 6 months before the big day. This will give you time to adjust and fine-tune your next treatment.
Two Weeks: HydraFacial®
Two weeks before your wedding is the perfect time to start HydraFacial®. This gentle treatment uses a vortex that extracts oils and debris from your skin while infusing hydration and other potent actives. As a result, your skin looks dewy and radiant.
One Week: Spectra™ Laser
Dr. Zena recommends skin toning with Spectra™ laser peel for brighter and smoother skin. This treatment uses mild heat to gently stimulate collagen and also strip off any dead layer of old cells that heap up and make us look dull. The Spectra Hollywood peel is a must-have before any special occasion and it has zero downtime. When the skin is fresh without the dead layer resting on top, your makeup is smoother (without cracks) and your skin reflects light better…overall more radiant. You can have Spectra™ once a week starting up to six weeks before your wedding, depending on your needs.
